Do you think the nightly news READERS (anchors) importance has diminished?

I don't even know or care who the nightly news people are.. the only one I know of is Katy Couric and she is doing horribly because old farts that like to watch the news at five in the afternoon like to hear men read it to them. With the internet and CNN I could care less about the national evening news.
