Is it okay to ask a boy out?

There is a boy and he tried to ask me out but he and i are shy and he tried to ask me out but I keept on running away from him. one time he waited after school and triued to ask me out but I was to nervous. An da nother time he pointed at me and told his friend he like d me.Should I keep on tring or just let it go?If i keep on tring what should I do,or say ?He is so cute smart but It is to hard for me to ask a boy out?What should I do??????
