Travel through southern russia and kazakstan in november/december. Temperatures?

i am interested in travelling through southern ukraine to volgograd (formely stalingrad) then onto aral'sk in kazakstan, from there ill be travelling south through the other stans. Temperature in november/december is my only concern?
