Is it a good time to join the Coast Guard?

Im 17 and im graduatin high school this june, i was wondering about joining the coast guard. Is it a good time to join now or not? because i don't want to get deployed overseas even though that happens sometimes but i was wondering because now there's wars going on, and probably be another Iraq war in Libya. is it a good time now or should i wait a few years? my sister said it's not but idk i just wanna find a job and college is not for me cause i have hearing loss and required to wear hearing aids but i don't wanna wear that cause it sucks.
